 StagFlex Bending Plywood
StagFlex Flexible Bending Plywood Suppliers of speciality plywood with over 200 years experience in the sourcing of wood products and plywood have resulted in development of StagFlex - the ideal solution for curved or rounded wood structures.
StagFlex For Versatility This super-flexible plywood provides a cost-effective, convenient solution for producing rounded structures, especially when small radii are required. StagFlex is unique in the ease with which it can take on any desired shape. Once it is glued, laminated or veneered, it will hold the required shape.
StagFlex - A World of Advantages Super-flexible plywood allows cold forming to the smallest radius requirements. No need for heat forming or water treatment. Self-supporting structure eliminates the need for structural skeletons or special supports. StagFlex Flexible Bending PlywoodUnique design models, rounded structures and complex multi-radii shapes that were virtually impossible to create with traditional materials, can be quickly and easily prepared. StagFlex can meet almost any thickness requirement by increasing the number of composite layers (e.g. increasing thickness to 10mm, 15mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, etc.). Combinations of sheets of different thicknesses are simply glued.
StagFlex is less expensive than premade wood forms. Significant savings of time, less labour intensive and more cost effective than any other method of plywood shaping.
Usage and Storage Instructions 1. Store the panels lying flat in a clean, shaded, dry place. 2. Glue the panel while fixed in desired shape. After the glue dries, the panel will maintain its shape. H.P.L. or veneer can be attached during initial shaping, or in a separate finishing stage. 3. Any wood glue is suitable for use. 4. Panels should be transported on a hard flat surface. Single panels can be rolled, but should not be stored in this manner for long periods.
Environmental News - The Gabon depends heavily on its income from natural resources of which timber features strongly with an annual harvest set at 2 million m³. To protect this valuable asset the Government has instituted a forest management policy to control the logging operations. During the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) "Gifts to the Earth" campaign it was announced that the Gabonese Government had protected 1 million hectares of rain forest which are home to wildlife species. The African Timber Organisation (ATO) initiative on principles, criteria and indicators for Sustainable Management of African forests has been established to produce a Pan - African Forests Certification System. The concept of Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) is growing and there is a consensus that SFM requires a balance between economic, environmental and social functions and values of forests for the benefit of both present and future generations. We shall continue to encourage good practise as indicated by the Societe National des Bois du Gabon (SNBG) who have expressed through their commitment "La forêt, notre present, notre avenir ", to improve forest Management in the Gabon.
